How to Do an Appraisal Review

Perhaps the best product, but the least used, in the appraiser’s storefront, is the appraisal review-a critique of someone else’s appraisal. It can demolish a legal suit, cause a judge to dismiss an expert’s opinion, and settle insurance claims, all done with relative ease and reasonable care.

 

An appraisal review is the act of appraising an appraisal-a work product someone else has done for a specific intended use. It can be as limited as focusing in on a element or questionable sentence or as broad as critquing an entire report’s methodology and providing one’s own opinion of values on the items in question. The scope of work depends on the client’s wishes and needs, often in consultation with the reviewer, and sometimes unique and never attempted before.
